Sure! It's really pretty easy. Harder to explain than to do. The key here is to take the two shots from a tripod without moving the camera/tripod at all. Make the two exposures, one for shadows and one for highlights (land, sky). Open both up in Photoshop. With one of them active go to the layers window where it shows the one layer called background. Hold down the shift key and left mouse click and hold on the background layer. Now drag the mouse/cursor to the other window/picture and let go of the left mouse key. This will drag-and-drop the one photo exactly centered/aligned onto the other. The holding of the shift key assures the centered alignment.

Now the part that gets harder to explain. Masks. In your window that now conatins both shots you now have two layers. Background and Layer 1. Layer 1 is the shot you just dragged and dropped and is the only shot you can see right now in the window. But in the layers menu/window you see both layers. This layer menu/window represents layers just as if you were looking at a stack of prints. Background print sitting on the table top with Layer 1 sitting right on top if it so you no longer see the background. Now what we want to effectively do is remove the part of the top layer (Layer1) that is not exposed correctly. So let us assume the top (Layer 1) is exposed properly for the sky and the land is underexposed. So we do not want to see the land in this layer, but we DO want to see the land of the layer underneath. So click on Layer 1 in the layer window to make sure it is active. Now at the bottom edge of the layer window there are several icons. The left most is a little 'f' symbol that brings up layer effect, the next one over is a square with a circle in it. Click on this one. The creates a mask for the active layer (Layer 1). You will see a white box appear on the active layer next to the icon of the layer information with a chain link between the two. By default this mask icon is made active when you created it which is what we want. To make it active, in case you clicked elsewhere and need it active again, simply click on it. Now the fun part.
