Microsoft Photo Editor ships with Microsoft Office 97 and the stand-alone versions of Microsoft Word 97 and Microsoft PowerPoint 97. Microsoft Photo Editor is installed when you perform a custom or complete installation from the compact disc. It does not ship with the stand-alone versions of Microsoft Excel 97, Microsoft Access 97, or as part of the Microsoft Office 97 ValuPack.

Microsoft Photo Editor allows you to customize graphic images you create, scan, or open.

If you have Microsoft Office installed on your computer you have the option of using Microsoft Photo Editor

Procedures

Click on the Start Menu

Select All Programs

Select Microsoft Office Tools

Click on Microsoft Photo Editor

Click on File and then Open

When the Open Dialog Box appears locate the file you wish to reduce and click the Open button

With the image displayed in the Photo Editor program click on the Image menu option and then click on Resize

In the Resize window make sure the Allow Distortion checkbox is unchecked

Use the down arrow on the Width or Height fields to change the 100 to a smaller number.

Repeat steps 7 - 9 until the desired image size is achieved

Do not make the image larger than the sample image below

To save the image Click File

Click Save As

Name the file in the File Name field

Select JPEG File Interchange Format(*.jpg, *.jpeg) in the Save As Type field

Click Save button
