Today I downloaded the trial form of Photo Editor (new computer, fast and plenty of memory...and running Vista Ultimate). I have been running the Beta version of ACDSee Photo Editor for some weeks now and wanted to compare the editor features. Photo Editor appeared to install without any hitches however whenever I try to open a picture in it, the Windows error message: "ACDSee Photo Editor has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I have seen some suggestions for XP but not for Vista.

Image-Editing Software

As the name implies, image-editing software helps you change your images. Depending on the software, you can do anything from cropping and resizing images, to sophisticated curve adjustments with masks and layers. Adobe Photoshop CS2 is the industry standard for image editing software. Most people don't need all of the power and tools offered in the full version of Photoshop. They also won't want to pay the $650 price tag. But there are lots of more affordable options including Adobe's entry-level Photoshop Elements. Adobe isn't the only company making good image editing software, though. There's lots of competition in the $100 price range, including Corel Paintshop Pro
